Coat yardage is done!
The natural grey coat yardage I've been working on for weeks and weeks is finally done! I ended up getting about 6 1/2 yards done before I ran out of weft. Quite frankly, it's a relief that it's over. The weaving and spinning were enjoyable, and the carding wasn't that bad. The painful part of the process was picking the fiber apart. I have learned my lesson - cheap fleece isn't necessarily a bargain.
Anyway, I'm on to happier weaving. I'm making a blanket with Shetland weaving yarn from the Pendleton Wool Mill in Portland, Oregon. It's a special present for some friends who just bought a home there.
I'm hoping to finish the warp this week, and take the coat yardage to the tailor this weekend.
In other news, there's cool stuff happening in the kitchen: I got a yogurt maker and a kombucha mother. The kombucha is brewing away, and I'm still trying to figure out the instructions for the yogurt maker. I'll keep you posted as things develop.. or rather ferment in this case.
