New/Old Lamp Project
This lamp is a combination of a pendant lamp I couldn't hang due to my charming poured concrete apartment walls, and a vintage lamp base that had no shade and supremely sketchy wiring.
As electrical projects go, lamps are awesome. Once unplugged, they are very safe to work on (no capicitors, one wire, etc), and pretty darn easy to re-wire. I took apart the old wiring, pulled the wiring for the pendant lamp through, stripped the ends, secured them, and voila - a new to me lamp from existing and vintage parts. It even has a dimmer switch!
