On the needles and in the dye pot
It's been a bit of a weird week over here in the knitting and dyeing departments.
I'm on a restricted knitting diet until my hand is doing better, but I did manage to fix, update, and upgrade my very first hat pattern, the Fisherman's Cap.
It's off for test knitting and editing this week and next, but will once again be available for free download by the end of the month. Now it comes in two sizes!
In addition to the usual dyeing suspects (lots of yarn and fiber), I over-dyed a hand-knit sweater of unknown provenance for my friend Bec.
It looked really scary mid-process - the color was really uneven, with a bunch of dark splotches. Of course, this is right when Bec saw it. Luckily, she's a cool customer and didn't strangle me on the spot.
I let it sit until the dye bath was completely cooled (i.e. overnight), and voila - not wrecked!
What have you been working on this week?
