This is how long my commute is

I have a great new job working with nice people. The only downside is that the office is a long ways away from my house - close to eight inches! I knitted this entire piece today. In the interest of full disclosure, I should tell you that I did work on it a for about 15 minutes during my lunch break... but I also had to wind the yarn into a ball during the morning commute, so I think it's a wash in terms of time.

Measuring the commute in terms of knitting progress rather than in hours or in miles makes it a lot easier to deal with. I have something to show for my time at the end of the day, and it makes the drive go by more quickly to boot. Oh, and don't worry - I'm not trying to drive a car and knit at the same time.

I'm knitting "Dashing" from Knitty again. I love this pattern fiercely, and Shokay's Shambala is a great yarn for this pattern. The only substitution I made is to switch to size 5 needles. Easy peasy!
