About this Pattern
Skill Level: Beginner
Skills Needed: knit. k2tog (knit two together), ssk (slip, slip, knit), CDD (central double decrease).
Finished Size: 4.25 inches / 11 cm tall, 2.5 inches / 6.5 cm wide.
Yarn: Any Sport Weight yarn, 2 y/m for trunk, 12 y/m for body of tree, held double throughout. Aran or Bulky weight worked single will also work. You may get a slightly smaller or larger tree depending on yarn used.
Needles: U.S. size 7 / 4.5 mm, or any size yielding correct gauge.
Gauge: 8 stitches / 18 rows over 2 inches / 5 cm in garter stitch. Gauge is not important for this project, but may affect the size of your finished tree.
Notions: Yarn needle, decorative materials (beads, bead needle, sewing thread, sequins, buttons, etc.), decorative cord for hanger, felt for backing of ornament if desired.
